SMS Announces Winners of the 2021 Helen D. Sears Creative Essay Contest

The Helen D. Sears Creative Essay Contest was started by the Sears family to honor their mother, Helen D. Sears.  Mrs. Sears was an avid reader and supporter of education.  The contest was open to all middle school students at St. Mary’s School.  The essays could be from any genre, a minimum of 800 words and with content according to the St. Mary’s code of conduct.

The essays were submitted to the Sears Family for judging.  The winners were announced on Friday during middle school lunch.  The winners were awarded a certificate, candy, and cash prizes.
