Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair Winners Announced

St. Mary’s School is proud to announce that six of our 7th and 8th grade students competed in the Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair (SASEF) on Tuesday, March 29, 2002.  These students were selected to participate in the regional competition based on their performance in the annual St. Mary’s Science Fair.  Three of these students, Nicholas Landa, Ryker Queern, and Kelly Vanwinkle received an honorable mention for their exemplary projects.

The remaining three students, Madly Hillman, Maverick Queern, and Morgan Snyder received SASEF Certificates of Excellence that qualified them to compete for SASEF’s overall awards.  In addition, Madly and Morgan received a nomination to participate in the 2022 Broadcom MASTERS competition for Rising Stars in Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering.

Maverick Queern was awarded a 4th Place in Environmental Sciences for his project, Bye, Bye, E. Coli .

Madly Hillman was awarded a 3rd Place in Plant Sciences for her project, Which H20 is Best2 Grow?.

Morgan Snyder was awarded a 3rd Place in Energy & Transportation for her project, A Collaboration of Insulation.
