A Message From The Principal

Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

-Philippians 4:8

Dear Parents, Friends, and Alumni of St. Mary’s!

Greetings in Christ Jesus, our Lord!

What an honor it is to be given the privilege of being a part of the SMS family of faith! As I begin my service to the school community as principal, I am very aware of the legacy of the Dominican Sisters and dedicated lay faculty and staff who have excelled in providing an outstanding Catholic education for hundreds of children over the years. Through zealous and tireless efforts, students, families, teachers, and the parish have been united in this Christ-centered environment. Academic excellence, guided by truth and charity in service to God and others, continues to be hallmarks of the school throughout her now over 70-year history.

As you peruse this beautiful website, you will find ample evidence of students being educated in the faith throughout the variety of curriculum in Art, Christian Doctrine, Language Arts, Library, Math, Music, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, and Technology. In addition to these areas of learning, you will notice the above and beyond activities sponsored by the teachers, coaches, volunteers, and parishioners through the many sports, clubs, and events provided throughout the year.

Three areas of St. Mary’s educational program stand out: 1) the hands-on instruction across the curriculum, 2) the one-to-one technology as part of the STREAM focus, and 3) the close family atmosphere experienced when students are treated with respect for their dignity as a human person, made in the image and likeness of God.

Take a virtual tour, read about our curriculum, discover the student life activities, and find the incredible value of the faith formation that makes St. Mary’s show just how much ‘the journey matters’ because the precious life of each student matters.

Pray for us, and know of our prayers for you in your journey in life. God loves you!

In Our Lady of Peace,

Sr. Mary John, O.P.
