APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Step 1

Apply for admission – apply online or request a paper application

  • Applications for admission are accepted beginning Nov. 1. Applications are prioritized by submission date and are recommended to be submitted by November 30th
  • Application recommended by November 30th to make first-round tuition evaluation by Knoxville Regional Catholic Schools Operating Fund..
  • Priority Application Deadline for new and returning students is January 31st.
  • Applications after this date will be handled on a rolling basis, determined by class enrollment.
  • Application fee is $25, paid at time of application online or with paper application.

Step 2

  • Attend an Open House or schedule a personal tour of the school (483-9700)
  • Schedule your child for a Shadow Day to experience St. Mary’s firsthand.
  • Apply for Tuition Evaluation (all families eligible).
    • First round deadline is November 30th to complete online application for tuition evaluation.
    • New families should apply as soon as possible.

Step 3

  • Kindergarten Readiness Screening – call for an appointment for your child
  • Completion of STAR Reading/Math to ensure academic needs can be met (Completed during their shadow day)
  • Documents in hand by January 31
    • Teacher Recommendations
    • Academic Records from previous schools

Step 4

  • Enrollment confirmed online and final documents received.
    • All personal documents submitted (birth certificate, baptismal records, custodial records, immunization records) with Financial Stewardship Form

P3 Preschool

Students applying to our P3 Preschool must be three (3) or four (4) years of age. Students who are four (4) years of age on or before August 15th of the school year in which they apply should apply to our full-time Pre-Kindergarten program.

Purpose of Preschool Program

Our program is intended to help our students become accustomed to being in a school setting, while learning some of the foundational academic and social skills to prepare them for pre-kindergarten and the beginning of their school journey.

Pre-Admission Requirements

Interview (parents and children) with Principal or her designee.

Required for Admission Decision

  • Completed Online Application (St. Mary’s School)
  • Any other information deemed necessary for initial acceptance; this also includes diagnostic testing (academic, behavioral, psychological, and/or speech)

Required for Enrollment

  • Completion of Online Enrollment through Renweb
  • $125 Enrollment Fee
  • Birth Certificate
  • Baptismal Certificate (if baptized)
  • Custodial Records (in case of divorce); court order
  • Physical examination completed by a medical provider dated within 12 months (can be enrolled without this, but it must be received within 30 days of start of school)
  • Tennessee Certificate of Immunization (must be received before first day of school)

Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten

Age Requirement: It is required that Pre-K/four (4) year old applicants be four (4) years of age on or before August 15th of the school year in which they apply. It is required that Kindergarten/five (5) year old applicants be five (5) years of age on or before August 15th of the school year in which they apply. (Diocese of Knoxville, POLICY AND PROCEDURES, 1030)

Purpose of the Early Learning Program

To provide early childhood Catholic education in a Christ-centered environment.

To provide a foundation for entrance into St. Mary’s school curriculum program.

  •    Shadow Visit in the classroom, when possible – part day for rising PreK and full day for rising Kindergarten
  •    Interview (parents and children) with Principal or her designee
  •    Kindergarten Screening (for rising kindergarteners)

  • Completed Online Application (St. Mary’s School)
  • Any other information deemed necessary for initial acceptance; this also includes diagnostic testing (academic, behavioral, psychological, and/or speech)

  • Baptismal Certificate (if baptized)

1st through 8th Grade

Age Requirement to enter grade 1: (6) years of age on or before August 15th of the school year in which they apply.

  • Classroom shadow visit by student, when possible, usually a full day

Required for Admission Decision

  • Completed Online Application (St. Mary’s School)
  • Academic records from previous school (grades, test scores, conduct and attendance records)
  • Any other information deemed necessary for initial acceptance; this also includes diagnostic testing (academic, behavioral, psychological, and/or speech)

Required for Enrollment

  • Completion of Online Enrollment through Renweb
  • $125 Enrollment Fee
  • Birth Certificate
  • Baptismal Certificate (if baptized)
  • First Communion Certificate (if sacrament has been received)
  • Custodial Records (in case of divorce); court order
  • Physical examination completed by a medical provider dated within 12 months (can be enrolled without this, but it must be received within 30 days of start of school)
  • Tennessee Certificate of Immunization with Box D checked by physician (must be received before first day of school)
  • Students in 7th Grade should have booster shots and Certificate updated by physician
