It is a blessing to be the principal of St. Mary’s School where for 75 years we have been educating the children of Oak Ridge and neighboring communities.  

I have been in the field of education now for 42 years, first as a teacher and then in four different elementary schools as principal. Through it all, I have the conviction that Catholic education is important now, more than ever.  We provide young people with a purpose and a strong sense of their personal worth and dignity. Created in the image and likeness of God, they are called by Him to a specific purpose that requires a strong formation that is spiritual, intellectual and social.  

With strong academics, we are providing a safe and joy-filled environment where students can flourish. As they learn about the world around them, they grow to appreciate their own gifts and talents. We seek to provide our students with a childhood that is filled with wonder, wholesome activities and structure that leads to the development of self-discipline.  

This is done in partnership with parents.  Through our close-knit community and a vibrant parish, not just our students, but the families in our school are supported.  We reinforce those values that are deeply rooted in our Catholic faith and are needed in the world today.  

As a Dominican Sister of St. Cecilia, I bring with me the wisdom of generations of educators. Together with a supportive parish and the strong faculty He has provided for us, we are preparing students for this life and for the life to come.
